But we are now guided by our own Cowichan Law, Snuw’uy’ulhtst tu Quw’utsun Mustimuhw u’ tu Shhw’a’luqwa’ i’ Smun’eem, passed by Quw’utsunCowichan people and supported by Chief and Council. This means our programs, decisions, and care are all grounded in Quw’utsunCowichan teachings and accountability to our Nation.
Stsi’elh Stuhw tu Smun’eemHonouring Our Sacred Children and Families means Honouring Our Sacred Children and Families. It reminds us that every child is sacred and that our families and communities share a sacred responsibility to raise them in love, belonging and strength.
We are governed by our own Cowichan Law, not by provincial legislation. This means decisions are made in community, guided by Elders and rooted in Quw’utsunCowichan values. Our focus is on prevention, healing and cultural connection so children grow up surrounded by family and community, not separated from them.
Yes. We serve all Quw’utsunCowichan children, youth and families on reserve and away from home. Whether you’re nearby or living elsewhere on Vancouver Island, our goal is to help every family stay connected to our culture, community and care.
